  20. Installation Instructions:

  22. •    To view the Joint Venture Preview, double-click on the Joint Venture Preview icon.

  25. System Extensions:

  27. The Joint Venture Preview requires QuickTime™ for Macintosh® to be installed on your system. QuickTime™ version 2.5 is provided on the CD-ROM.

  29. To install QuickTime™:
  30. •    Double-click on the Joint Venture Preview icon.
  31. •    Open the QuickTime 2.5 Installer folder on the CD-ROM drive, and double-click the                      
  32.         Install QuickTime icon.
  33.                     -NOTE:  You may want to read the QuickTime ReadMe before installing     
  34.                                          QuickTime 2.5 on your machine. 
  35. •    Your Macintosh® will install QuickTime 2.5, and place the files in the 
  36.         necessary folders in your System folder.
  37. •    Once you have installed QuickTime™, you will need to restart your
  38.         Macintosh® for QuickTime™ to take effect.

  41.                                                                                                 Troubleshooting Issues
  42.  
  43. Performance Problems:
  44. If you are experiencing performance problems  after 
  45. launching the Joint Venture Preview, try the following:
  46.  
  47. •Copy the Joint Venture Preview contents from the CD-ROM to your hard drive
  48.                             -you will need approximately 40 MB free disk space
  49. •Go to "Get Info".  To get info:
  50.                             -select the  Preview icon
  51.                             -select "Get Info" from the File Menu or select "+I" (Apple and "I") 
  52.                             -if the box labeled "Locked" is checked, click to remove the "X"
  53.                             -change the minimum memory requirement to 4096K
  54.                             -close the "Get Info" box
  55.               -launch the application
  56. •NOTE:  Once you launch the application and it runs, you can delete it from your hard 
  57. drive.  You should not have problems running the Joint Venture Preview even 
  58. after rebooting.

  61. About Virtual Memory:
  62. We have generally found that performance degrades when Virtual Memory is on.  If 
  63. you have more than 8Mb of RAM we recommend turning Virtual Memory off. To turn 
  64. Virtual Memory off:
  65.  
  66. •    Select Control Panels under the Apple menu.
  67. •    Double-click on the Memory icon.
  68. •    Within the Virtual Memory section, turn Virtual Memory OFF.
  69. •    Restart the computer for the settings to take effect.
